Incurably charming, deliberately nonchalant and technically
irreproachable, the Quebec-based company directed by Louis Robitaille
is offering a program devised entirely by its
choreographer-in-residence, Aszure Barton.
Without a doubt,
the young New-York-based Canadian choreographer and protégée of Mikhail
Baryshnikov has the wind in her sails: her works have been performed in
New York and at major festivals throughout the United States. In 2006,
Barton choreographed pieces for a Broadway production of LâOpéra de
Quatâsous. For this Soirée Aszure Barton, (bjm_danse) will rekindle the
âinfectious energyâ of Les Chambres des Jacques, in its Montreal
premiere.
