Montreal, April 8, 2008 – Officials announced that the
Scotti Grand Prix Festival will return to Little Italy during a
thrilling weekend that will feature an unprecedented combination of
racing and entertainment. The two-day event which embodies the spirit
of fine automotive engineering in a festive ambiance will include
numerous attractions such as live music, sporting events, exhibits, and
the return of Starlight Starbright’s Go-Cart races on St. Laurent
Boulevard, which raised an extraordinary 30,000$ for the foundation in
2007.
The addition of the Scotti Grand Prix Festival is a
significant boost to the International recognition Montreal receives as
the premier Formula 1 Grand Prix destination and the APPI promises to
give visitors an unforgettable event “We are committed to giving
Formula 1 fans an expanded festival in 2008 that combines speed and
entertainment to bring Little Italy alive with pride and bustling with
energy. This event is will be about more then just racing, taking into
consideration the Italian heritage that plays an important role in
Grand Prix fever since its inception” said Mr. Franco Ruccolo,
President of the Association pour la promotion de la Petite Italie. “We
are looking forward to taking part in what has become the most exciting
weekend in the Montreal festival season.”
The Grand Prix
Festival in Little Italy enjoyed tremendous success from 1999-2003
before a hiatus, which saw it return in 2007. Well deserved rest that
allowed the APPI to elevate the festival to the next level, vibrant in
intensity, rich in culture, adventurous in approach and lavish in
performance.
The weekend will kick-off Friday June 6, 2008 and
